Bhubaneswar: Odia actor Amlan Das has thanked audiences for their overwhelming support as the action-thriller Shikar entered its sixth successful week in theatres, calling the film’s sustained run a result of viewers’ love and encouragement.
In a video message shared on social media, Amlan expressed gratitude to audiences across Odisha for backing the film since its release.
“Shikar proudly enters its sixth successful week on the big screen. This journey has been possible because of your love, your cheers, and your unwavering support. Every ticket you bought, every review you shared, and every recommendation to your friends helped make this milestone possible.

Released during the Raja festival, Shikar has emerged as one of the notable successes in the Odia film industry this season, sustaining a strong theatrical run for six consecutive weeks.
Produced by Sachikanta Jena and directed by Mrutyunjaya Sahu, Shikar is a crime-action thriller starring Amlan Das, Elina Samantray, Supriya Nayak and Ankit in pivotal roles. The film blends crime, suspense and high-octane action, with Amlan’s performance and Elina’s portrayal of a lawyer receiving appreciation from audiences.
Earlier, Amlan had hinted that the makers are considering Shikar 2, saying the sequel would move forward if the film continued to receive the love and support of audiences. With Shikar now entering its sixth week in theatres, the film’s successful box-office run has further strengthened expectations for a sequel.
