‘Shikar 2’ on the Cards, Says Amlan
As Shikar enters its fourth week in theatres, the actor says the sequel will take shape if audiences continue to shower the film with love.
Bhubaneswar: As Odia action-thriller Shikar entered its fourth week in theatres, lead actor Amlan Das hinted that a sequel is firmly on the cards, crediting the film’s successful run to the overwhelming response from audiences.
Speaking about the possibility of a follow-up, Amlan said the team had already discussed the idea of continuing the story.
“We have plans for making a sequel. If Shikar receives the audience’s love and support, Shikar Part 2 will definitely happen. We will certainly move ahead with the idea and plan it,” he said.
Released during the Raja festival, Shikar has sustained its theatrical run and entered its fourth week, emerging as one of the notable Odia releases of the season. The film’s performance has further strengthened hopes for a second installment.
Produced by Sachikanta Jena and directed by Mrutyunjaya Sahu, Shikar is a crime-action thriller starring Amlan Das alongside Elina Samantray, Supriya and Ankit in pivotal roles. The film combines crime, suspense and high-octane action, with Elina’s portrayal of a lawyer receiving appreciation from audiences.
With Shikar continuing its successful run in cinemas, the makers are now optimistic that sustained audience support could pave the way for Shikar 2.
