We always aim to show unique stories on screen: Kaushik Das
Bhubaneswar: Aao NXT Odisha’s popular OTT platform which since its formation in 2020 has given popular web series and movies such as Club 69, Four, Anthony, Jajabara 2.0, Suka Bhai Ra Sholay, Dasama and others had recently streamed the first erotic web series Ayushman Mastram which is getting good views at the platform.
Kaushik Das, Founder and CEO of AAO NXT in a chat with Odia Celebrity said, “Erotic is seen in a different way by people but we tried to showcase it comically and tried to tell the story in a fun way which is getting good response from the audience.”
Das said that in OTT platform we had to showcase something different from usual and through their series and movies the team tried to do that.
About competition from big OTT platforms, Das said that competing with big players is a tough task. “So instead of competing against them we tried to collaborate with them at present, we are available at different DTH platforms such as, OTT Play, Jio Fibre, Dish TV etc. We also try to be dynamic in prices for the users”
An entrepreneur and investor Das has made a lot of investments and business in multiple sectors such as mining, software, IT etc. “In 2018, we had planned to produce Hindi movies but that didn’t go well and in 2020 we launched the OTT platform AAO NXT and tried to collaborate with Odia film producers to release their movies on the platform,” he said.
“Now many Odia movies are collaborating with us and are streaming their movies directly on our platforms.Recently-released Odia movie Dasama starring Sailendra Samantaray and directed by Raja D has done well both in theatres and on our platform. We will also stream the recently released movie Sita starring Debjani Deghuria soon,” he said.
About future projects, Das said that he had many new and exciting movies and series that will be released soon on the platform.
“We have Dalcheeni, a unique love story starring Partha Sarthi Ray Suryamayee Mohapatra, Maliput Melodies slice of love series and an untitled action movie about which we will inform you soon. We also started music streaming platform AAO Music,” he added.
Das said that Odia Industry has a lot of potential and is doing great. “We want to continue that by providing good stories and entertainment,” Das said.
