Bhubaneswar: As Odisha prepares to celebrate Bahuda Yatra—the return journey of Lord Jagannath and His siblings—two devotional Odia films inspired by the Holy Trinity are set to release on July 4, offering a spiritually enriching cinematic experience.

The first, Shree Jagannathanka Nabakalebara, is a grand portrayal of the sacred ritual where the wooden idols of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra are ceremonially replaced. Directed by Saubhagyalaxmi Jena (Bini) and co-produced with Dilip Kumar Jena, the film is based on Shankar Tripathy’s book Nabakalebara. The cast includes Siddhant Mohapatra, Suryamayee Mohapatra, Jyoti Ranjan Nayak, and others.

The second film, I Am Kalia, takes a contemporary look at devotion, focusing on the faith of modern-day devotees. Directed by and starring Harihar Mohapatra, the movie also features Russian actress Aniya, Kuna Tripathy, and Pushpa Panda. It is written by Monalisa Mahapatra and produced by Subash Sahu under Lee Bliss Entertainment.

Both films promise to deepen the festive spirit with their spiritual narratives and cultural resonance.
