Promotions Halted for Sabyasachi Mishra’s Upcoming Film Randi Pua Ananta Amid Rising Tensions at Border
Bhubaneswar: The makers of the upcoming Odia film Randi Pua Ananta, starring Sabyasachi Mishra, have paused all promotional activities in light of the escalating conflict between India and Pakistan.
In an official statement, the production team said “Escalation at the border by Pakistani forces has made every Indian angry. We are proud of our brave Indian Forces and the way they are confronting these challenges with unmatched courage—even at the cost of their lives. Keeping this in mind, we have halted all our promotional activities related to Randi Pua Ananta”
They said” Raja release will happen as planned, and promotions will resume soon. We are confident that our armed forces will demolish the terror capital ‘Pakistan’ in no time.”
They concluded the message with a heartfelt note “Let us all pray for our Jawans and the innocent people living near the LOC. Jai Jagannath. Jai Hind. Bharat Mata Ki Jai.”
After the success of Pushkara, Sabyasachi Mishra returns in a compelling new role in *Randi Pua Ananta*, directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Sabyasachi Mohapatra and jointly produced by Amara Studios and Kumar Pictures.
As part of the initial promotional campaign, Mishra visited Odasingi village in Ganjam district, where he engaged with fans and shared behind-the-scenes details about his intense physical transformation for the film.
“I usually weigh around 75 kg, but I had to bulk up to 105 kg for this role,” he revealed. “It was extremely demanding, but I’m thankful to Mohapatra sir for trusting me.”
The film is based on a story by legendary Odia writer Fakir Mohan Senapati. “It’s an honor to portray a character from the pen of Odisha’s literary giant. Working with a visionary like Sabyasachi Mohapatra is a dream come true,” Mishra said.
Randi Pua Ananta is based on a heart-touching tale of transformation and sacrifice. It narrates the journey of Ananta—a village troublemaker who redeems himself by heroically saving his village from a devastating flood, ultimately sacrificing his life and becoming a human dam. The film explores themes of growth, responsibility, and selflessness.
Randi Pua Ananta* is slated for a theatrical release during the Raja festival.
