Bhubaneswar: The upcoming Odia film Ananta, starring Sabyasachi Mishra, has officially received a ‘U’ certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with no cuts and high praise.
Announcing the news, lead actor Sabyasachi said, “Our Censor is Clear without any Cut & with Lots of Appreciation… Now officially we announce our Release Date ‘June 12’. Our entire Team has given their best effort to present an authentic Odia Cinema.”
Produced by Naveen Bhandari, Suraj Mohnot, and Archita Sahu under the banners of Amara Studios and Shivaansh Productions, in association with Sabyasachi Films, Ananta is inspired by Randipua Ananta, a short story by iconic Odia writer Fakir Mohan Senapati.
The story follows Ananta, a mischievous young man who evolves into a selfless hero, ultimately making a profound sacrifice during a catastrophic flood—cementing his place in Odia folklore.
The film, co-directed by Kumar C Dev and veteran filmmaker Sabyasachi Mohapatra, stars Suryamayee Mohapatra, Kuna Tripathy, and Jyotirmayee Panda alongside Sabyasachi Mishra.
The recently released teaser offers a glimpse into the powerful character of Ananta, promising a heartfelt cinematic tribute to Odia literary heritage. Ananta is slated for release in cinemas on June 12, 2025.
