‘Monster’ Unveils Mahasweta Ray’s First Look on Her Birthday; Veteran Actress Joins Dussehra 2026 Action Entertainer

Bhubaneswar: The makers of the upcoming Odia action film Monster on Thursday unveiled the first look of veteran actress Mahasweta Ray to mark her birthday, adding another layer of excitement to one of the most anticipated Odia films of 2026.

Sharing the special birthday poster on social media, Gopinath Motion Pictures described Mahasweta Ray as a “Living Legend”, while extending birthday wishes to the celebrated actress. The poster also confirmed that Monster will release in cinemas during Dussehra 2026.

The inclusion of Mahasweta Ray, one of the most iconic names in Odia cinema, is expected to lend further weight to the high-octane action drama.

The film stars emerging actor Aaditya Mohapatra in the lead role. After making his acting debut with the 2024 romantic drama I Love You 2, Aaditya will be seen in a rugged action avatar. The project is particularly significant for the young actor as he has also written the story and screenplay.

Directed by Sudhanshu Mohan Sahoo, Monster features newcomer Dibyajyoti Tripathy as the female lead and is currently being filmed in Bhubaneswar.

The makers have promised a larger-than-life cinematic experience, with the production reportedly becoming one of the first in the Odia film industry to use a robotic arm film camera for stylised action sequences, enhancing the film’s visual scale and technical quality.

Produced by Debraj Bidhar under the banner of Gopinath Motion Pictures, Monster has steadily built anticipation since its title was unveiled during Ganesh Puja last year. The recently announced Dussehra 2026 release has further heightened expectations, with the team aiming to redefine action cinema in the Odia film industry.
