Odisha CM Declares Odia Film ‘Aafaa’ Tax-Free to Promote Organ Donation Awareness

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has declared the Odia film ‘Aafaa’ tax-free in the state. The film is directed by Pritiraj Satpathy and produced by Naina Das Tiwari. The proposal to exempt the film from entertainment tax was approved by the Chief Minister on Wednesday.

Aafaa is based on the theme of organ donation and seeks to spread awareness about the life-saving importance of organ donation while promoting compassion and humanity, particularly among the youth.

The film follows the inspiring journey of a 16-year-old girl battling a prolonged critical illness who decides to donate her organs despite the hardships she endures. Through her extraordinary courage and selflessness, the film highlights the power of hope and the importance of giving others a second chance at life.

According to the Chief Minister’s Office, the film’s strong social message is expected to inspire public awareness and encourage more people to support the cause of organ donation. The government believes the film will serve as a positive social example by promoting humanitarian values and social responsibility.

The tax exemption is expected to help Aafaa reach a wider audience across Odisha, amplifying its message of compassion, courage, and the importance of organ donation.
