Bhubaneswar: Riding on its successful theatrical run, the blockbuster Odia film Bara Badhu is all set to return to the big screen with a grand re-release on July 16, coinciding with the festive celebrations of Rath Yatra.
Announcing the re-release, the makers said audiences will once again get the opportunity to experience the film’s emotional story, drama and memorable moments in theatres. They described the re-release as a celebration of the film that “won millions of hearts.”
Originally released on February 13, Bara Badhu emerged as one of the most successful Odia films of the year. The film completed more than 50 days in theatres and reportedly collected around Rs 1.75 crore at the box office, earning widespread appreciation from audiences.
The film also gained international recognition after being honoured at the Indian Film Festival in Russia 2026. The makers thanked the Ministry of External Affairs and Embassy of India, Moscow for showcasing and honouring the film, calling it a significant milestone for the team and for the growing global reach of Odia cinema.
Directed by Beswaranjan and produced by Chandra Mani, Bara Badhu explores themes of love, family values, tradition and relationships. The film stars Subhasis Sharma, Sailendra Samantaray, Suryamayee Mohapatra, Sivani Sangita, Jayshree Sarangi and Hara Rath in key roles.
With its return to theatres during Rath Yatra, the makers are hoping the film will once again draw family audiences and recreate the success of its original theatrical run.
