Jhilik Bhattacharjee, Team Lahari Attend Film’s Screening at Bhubaneswar Film Festival
Bhubaneswar: The makers of acclaimed Odia film Lahari, including producer Jhilik Bhattacharjee, attended a special screening of the movie at the Bhubaneswar Film Festival (BFF) at Jaydev Bhavan on Thursday.
The screening witnessed the presence of film enthusiasts and members of the Odia film fraternity, who gathered to watch the festival-acclaimed movie. Following the event, Jhilik Bhattacharjee shared photographs from the screening on social media and expressed her gratitude for the audience’s response.
“The screening of Lahari at Jaydev Bhavan today was truly memorable. It was heartwarming to see everyone enjoy the movie and appreciate its journey. Jai Jagannath,” she wrote.
The screening comes shortly after Lahari was released in more than 30 cinema halls across Odisha. Directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Amartya Bhattacharyya, the film has already garnered appreciation at prestigious festivals, including the Kolkata International Film Festival and the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne.
A poignant coming-of-age drama, Lahari explores themes of friendship, fatherhood, and self-discovery against the scenic backdrop of Odisha’s eco-tourism destinations. The film celebrates the state’s culture, natural beauty, and entrepreneurial spirit while presenting an emotionally engaging narrative.
Produced under the banner of Jhilik Motion Pictures, the film features Choudhury Jayaprakash Das, Choudhury Bikash Das, Dipanwit Dashmohapatra, Smruti Ranjan Mahala, Susant Misra, Swastik Choudhury, and Zeinab Doer in key roles. Popular actor Devasis Patra appears in a guest role, while Odia superstar Babushan Mohanty makes a special cameo appearance.
The music has been composed by Kisaloy Roy, with vocals by Gaurav Anand and Navya Jaity. Besides directing the film, Amartya Bhattacharyya has also written the story, lyrics, handled cinematography, and edited the project.
The warm response at the Bhubaneswar Film Festival added another milestone to Lahari’s successful journey, reinforcing its growing popularity among audiences and critics alike.
