Bhubaneswar: The wait is over! Odia cinema gears up for an exciting new entry with Chakranta, a suspense-mystery film that promises to keep audiences guessing until the very end. The first look of the film, starring Bhoomika Dash and Subhasish Sharma in never-seen-before avatars, has just been unveiled, creating a buzz among fans.
Directed by seasoned filmmaker Pinu Nayak and produced by Saurabh Padhi under the Laksheshwar Productions banner, Chakranta is slated for a January 2026 release. While the exact date is yet to be announced, the makers have confirmed that post-production is complete, and the film is ready to hit theaters.
The story revolves around youngsters who move away from home for education or jobs, only to face temptations, bad company, and unexpected challenges. As innocent lives are tested and relationships strained, the film shines a spotlight on the sacrifices parents make and delivers a strong social message about choices and consequences.
For the first time on screen, actor Mantu pairs with Bhoomika Dash, bringing a fresh and intriguing on-screen chemistry. The screenplay is penned by Disha Padhi, with dialogues by Jitendra Kumar Baral. The film’s music is composed by Dr. Nirmal Nayak and Dr. Raghunath Sahu, while Abhijit Majumdar directs the music sequences. Cinematography is handled by Sudarshan Senapati, dance choreography by Kabir Prasad, and editing by Rajesh Das.
The ensemble cast includes Harihar Mahapatra, Chaudhury Jayprakash Das, Pradyumna Lenka, Dharitri Khandual, Surabhi, Soumya Satapathy, Shubham Padhi, Suman Mahanty, Kusum Tripathy, Pramod Raut, Tushar, Umakant, Niranjan Nirua, Punyatoya Mishra, Krishnarani Dash, with a special guest appearance by Ashrumochan Mahanty.
