Utkal Cine Chamber of Commerce message to the film fraternity of Odisha

Bhubaneswar: J.K.Sundaray Secretary of Utkal Cine Chamber of Commerce (UCCC) wrote a letter to To all the bonafide members of our film fraternity regarding Stay Order by the Orissa High Court on the pseudo organization.

In the letter secretary Sundaray said ” I would like to bring to your attention a recent development regarding some members of the UCCC who have diverged from the established platform and have clandestinely formed a pseudo organization under the same name. This action is deemed null and void under the 1860 Society Registration Act of the Government of India.”

“Subsequently, this matter was brought before the Honourable High Court of Cuttack, which has issued a stay order vide IA No 20562 of 2023 dated 10/01/2024 against the use of the registration certificate vide registration No 615/720202300068 of 2023-24,issued by IGR, Cuttack.”

“During the period of the stay order, their attempt to engage with the Central Board of Film Certification by recommending the issuance of a Censor certificate to a film producer is considered contempt of court.”

“Given the gravity of the situation, we urge you to recognize the sensitivity of the matter and refrain from endorsing or engaging with the aforementioned body for any official purposes.”

“As the UCCC strives to foster solidarity through the establishment of a Federal Structure to unify all existing bodies of the Film Fraternity in Odisha, we seek your continued support in both spirit and action.”

“In appreciation of our longstanding and valued association, let us continue to collaborate wholeheartedly.
We will also update you as soon as we receive the verdict of the Honourable High Court.”
