Mumbai:On the occasion of death anniversary of Ramdhari Singh Dinkar, The Poor Theatre Company and Surabhi Rural Development and Welfare Society Begusarai presented Dinkar’s epic poem titled Rashmirathi- A solo performance by Harish Hariyadh.
The play staged On April 24 at Veda Black Box, Veda Factory Aram Nagar Part 2, Andheri West, Mumbai.
Theatre Director and actor Harish Hariaudh staged the solo play where he narrates the story of Karna through the epic battle and beyond. It captures the myriad emotions that Karna goes through as a result of his affiliations- both filial and affectual, the situations that lead to his rise and fall as a warrior and his unparalleled humanism. The script is extracted from Ramdhari Singh Dinkar’s poetic text Rashmi Rathi.
This entire Khand Kavya was enthralled with the entire audience for 1 hour 15 minutes with his solo acting. Live music was done by Sada Mullick, Background music was done by Ashish Kulkarni, stage management was by Ashutosh Dubey and lighting concept was by Sanjay Sonu, which remained an attraction throughout the staging.
The stage was conducted by Jayant Gadekar. He explained in detail about the stage activities of Surabhi since its inception in 2011 and kept the audience entertained with his hosting skills.
Durgesh Kumar, Himanshu Talreja of The Poor Theatre Company Mumbai welcomed all the guests including famous cine actor Sanjay Mishra, Vineet Kumar, Hemant Pandey, Shyam Pathak, Vineet Sharma, Deepraj Rana on this occasion. And on this occasion all the guests encouraged all the artists of Surabhi.
Earlier ,on 15 April 2024, its first presentation was also organized at the same place by “Nat Rangbhoomi Theatre Society Mumbai, whose chief guests were cine actor Deepak Kazir Kejriwal and Ravi Jhankal.
Ramdhari Singh Dinkar was an Indian Hindi poet, essayist, patriot and academic, who is considered one of the most important Hindi poets. His poetry exuded veer rasa, and has been hailed as a Rashtra Kavi ‘National Poet’ on account of his inspiring patriotic compositions. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 1959.
