Bhubaneswar: The upcoming Odia film starring Sabyasachi Mishra, originally titled *Randi Pua Ananta*, has officially been renamed *Ananta* following public concerns and discussions surrounding the original title. The decision was announced by the makers, Amara Studios in association with Kumar Pictures, and is directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Sabyasachi Mohapatra.

The film is based on the timeless short story Randipua Ananta by legendary Odia writer Byasakabi Fakir Mohan Senapati. While the original title was chosen to honor the literary roots of the film, it sparked controversy among sections of the audience due to the perceived harshness of the word “Randi.”

In an official statement, the makers said:
“From the time of making a movie on the timeless story *Randipua Ananta*, there have been many discussions and controversies regarding the name. Despite such a beautiful effort, this situation is painful for our team. Those who find the name uncomfortable may never be able to support the film freely.”

They added that the team’s aim is for “100% of the audience to proudly watch this story of our soil on the big screen.” After extensive discussions with literary figures and the public, they decided to rename the film *Ananta*, while still honoring its literary origins.

“Literature cannot be changed, so we are making the movie under the title *Ananta*, writing it as based on *Randipua Ananta* to respect the creation of Byasakabi. For those who understand the soul of this story, it is far beyond the name,” the statement read.

With blessings from Mahaprabhu, the team hopes this decision will strike a balance between respect for literature and public sentiment. “People of *Ananta*, get involved in the infinite thoughts. Jay Jagannath,” the makers concluded.

The film, set for release this Raja festival, is highly anticipated across Odisha. Sabyasachi Mishra has gone through a significant physical transformation for the role, gaining over 105 kg to portray the character authentically. He was last seen in the acclaimed film *Pushkara*, directed by Subhransu Das.
