Bhubaneswar: The title of a new Odia feature film Shikar was officially announced on Sunday. The film stars Amlan Das, Aankit Kumar, Supriya Nayak, and Elina Samantaray in pivotal roles.
Directed by Mrutyunjaya Sahoo and produced by Sachikanta Jena, the film is presented by Moon TV Movies in association with Sidharth Music, and will be released under the banner of Prakash Films.
Unveiling the title, the makers described Shikar as a powerful narrative where human emotions challenge man-made laws. “When nature-gifted emotions rise above constructed rules, the world witnesses an extraordinary tale. Revealing the truth behind it demands courage—because truth and justice rarely walk hand in hand,” the team stated.
The film promises a gripping cinematic experience rooted in power dynamics, destiny, and human ambition. Its striking tagline reads: “Every move has a consequence. The game begins where power, fate, and ambition collide.”
The project is produced by Sachikanta Jena , with additional backing from Sanjeeb Kumar Sahu. Music for the film is composed by Baidyanath Dash, while cinematography is handled by Pratap Rout.
The story, screenplay, and dialogues have been penned by Priyabrata Panda. Editing is by Rajesh Dash, and choreography by Amit Nayak.
The team recently concluded post script-reading sessions, hinting at an intense and layered narrative where every choice alters the course of destiny. Further details, including the shooting schedule and release timeline, are expected to be announced soon.
