Bhubaneswar : The Odia-language film RANGASHOOR is set to make its international mark with a special screening at the prestigious 25th New York Indian Film Festival (NYIFF), scheduled for Saturday, June 21st at 12:30 PM at Village East by Angelika, New York City.
Written and directed by Pratap Rout, who also served as the Director of Photography, RANGASHOOR brings the vibrant and deeply rooted cultural traditions of Odisha to the global stage. The film highlights the rich heritage of the region, with a special focus on the colorful and powerful folk art form of Bagha Nacha (Tiger Dance)—a traditional Odia performance art that is both visually captivating and culturally significant.
Speaking about the selection, director Pratap Rout shared his excitement “It is a dream come true to showcase RANGASHOOR at NYIFF. This recognition is not just for the film, but for the Odia language, our people, and the beauty of our traditions. I am grateful to the festival for giving our story a global platform.”
