Bhubaneswar— Under the direction of acclaimed filmmaker Anupam Pattnaik, the highly anticipated Odia film Mantra Muugdha has officially begun shooting at Symphony Mall, Bhubaneswar. Before the shoot, the team visited the sacred city of Puri to seek blessings from Lord Jagannath.

Initially known by the symbolic title “MM,” Mantra Muugdha has generated significant curiosity across the Odia film industry. Now revealed as a romantic comedy with a twist, the film is being produced by Barsha Pattnaik under the banner of Amiya Pattnaik Productions.

For the first time, celebrated actress Bhoomika Dash collaborates with this production house. The film also stars Surjyamayee Mohapatra, known for her striking role in Karma, along with Karma co-stars Sanoj Kumar and Manmay Dee, who reunite with Anupam for this project. Rising talent Sarthak Bharadwaj joins the ensemble, continuing Anupam’s legacy of spotlighting new faces.

Also part of the cast are Dipanwita Dasmahapatra (Pratiksha), Har Ratha, Chaudhary Jayaprakash Das, Nishant Majithia, Soma Hota, and Bhakti Das, with appearances by TV actress Pihu Mohapatra and popular digital creator Mr. Raut.

The film is being shaped by a talented crew — Deepak Kumar as cinematographer, Rashmi Ranjan Das as editor, and Shakti Swaroop Dwivedi as sound designer, with Chandrasekhar Sharma handling sync sound. The story was co-written by Anupam Pattnaik and Roshan Bishoi, with the screenplay by Rohit Gehlot and Anupam. Dialogues are by Pranab Rath, supported by Nishant Majithia.

In a groundbreaking move for Odia cinema, Mantramugdha features five music directors: Ashish Pradhan, Anurag Pattnaik, Sangeet Pattnaik, Anurag Panda, and Raumy Raj Pradhan — bringing a rich, multi-layered sound to the film.

While Mantramugdha delivers humor and thrill, it also carries a powerful message that challenges social conventions, aiming to both entertain and provoke thought.

“We’ve always received immense love and Lord Jagannath’s blessings. From Pratiksha to Gangs of Puri Season 2, the audience has supported us at every step. I believe Mantramugdha will earn the same affection and leave audiences truly ‘spellbound’,” said director Anupam Pattnaik.
