The National Green Metal Conference 2024, which is themed ‘Balancing the Metal Eco-Systems: Towards Green Sustainability’, concluded at a private hotel in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday.
The two days conference offers a unique opportunity for industry and mining organizations to learn about the latest in climate change mitigation technologies, environmental monitoring, and data acquisition and storage. It also fosters knowledge exchange, contributing to the advancement of the mining and industrial sector and the overall progress of the metallurgical sector.
On the second day different sessions on such as “Safety Management System in Metal Industries towards Green Sustainability, Sustainability and Climate Change initiatives in Metal Mining Sector, financing for Net Zero etc are discussed by panelists.
On the second day officials and panelists who participated in the sessions are R Santhanagopalan, Commissioner Cum Secretary of Labour department, Usha Padhee, Principal Secretary Skill Development and Transport & Commerce department, Satyabrata Sahu, ACS Forest, Environment and Climate Change, and Hemanta Sharma , Principal secretary of Industries department and others.
The experts appealed the Captains of Steel Industry Sector to lessen carbon foot prints and boost Green Steel Production. They emphasized the critical challenges of sustainable development and climate change, underscoring the need to achieve ‘zero’ carbon emissions by 2070.
