Bhubaneswar: The buzz around the newly released second season of Gangs of Puri just got a starry endorsement.

Acclaimed Bollywood and OTT actress Isha Talwar took to Instagram to share her appreciation for the regional crime drama, calling it a refreshing and honest portrayal of storytelling.

Talwar, known for her memorable roles in series like Mirzapur, Saas Bahu Aur Flamingo, and Article 15, shared a glowing story on Instagram soon after the premiere of Gangs of Puri Season 2. Tagging the show’s director Anupam Patnaik and producer Barsha Patnaik, she wrote:
“Regional storytelling has felt far more honest, this is going to be a fabulous watch, enjoy!”

Her reaction comes at a time when Gangs of Puri is gaining traction beyond Odisha, drawing attention from national audiences for its raw depiction of Puri’s underworld in the 1990s.

Interestingly, Isha Talwar has recently entered the Odia film industry herself, with her debut in the film Durga, directed by Tapas Sargharia. In the drama-mystery, she plays a lawyer opposite Poonam Mishra, who takes on the titular role. Her growing connection with Odia cinema seems to have deepened her appreciation for regional narratives.

The second season of Gangs of Puri, currently streaming on the Kanccha Lannka OTT platform, has been receiving widespread praise for its intense performances and layered storytelling. With Isha Talwar’s praise now adding to the momentum, the series is well on its way to becoming a landmark in regional OTT content.
