The 34-year-old singer, celebrated for his emotional depth and powerful vocal range, leaves behind a legacy that shaped the soundscape of an entire generation of Odia music lovers.

A Journey From Reality Show Sensation to Ollywood Mainstay

Humane Sagar rose to prominence after winning the popular singing reality show “Voice of Odisha Season 2” in 2012. His soulful singing, rooted in classical influence and contemporary expression, captured the imagination of thousands and marked the beginning of an extraordinary career.

His major breakthrough came with Tarang Cine Productions’ film Ishq Tu Hi Tu, where he rendered the title track composed by Abhijit Majumdar. The song became a statewide sensation, establishing him as one of the most promising young playback voices in Ollywood.

Admitted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar

According to sources, Humane Sagar was admitted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar, where he was undergoing treatment. Despite the efforts of doctors, he passed away due to multiple organ failure. His sudden demise sent shockwaves through the state, prompting an outpouring of tributes from fans and fellow artists.

His demise is an irreparable loss to our music and cinema. I convey my condolences to the bereaved family and pray to God for the peace of the departed soul. Om Shanti.”

A Prolific Career Across Films and Albums

His notable album work included popular tracks from “Tuma Otha Tale,” “Niswasa,” “Bekhudee,” and “Chehera,” many of which dominated music charts and became staples at festivals, weddings, and stage shows.

He also explored the national space with his Hindi album “Mera Yeh Jahan,” expanding his artistic canvas beyond the Odia industry.

Final Works and Unfinished Projects

Humane Sagar was last heard in the song “Kerkeraa” from the Odia film Charidham. He was also collaborating with director Manas Padhiary for the upcoming movie Chaaki Suna, a project that now remains an incomplete chapter in his musical journey.

A Legacy Etched in Emotion and Melody

Born into a musically inclined family, Sagar’s craft was shaped by his early exposure to rhythm, devotional music, and folk traditions. His unmatched ability to infuse emotion into every lyric made him a beloved figure among fans and a dependable name in the industry.

Following the news of his demise, tributes poured in from artists, filmmakers, and fans across Odisha. Many described him as a “once-in-a-generation talent” whose voice reflected the “soul of the common Odia listener.”
