Bhubaneswar: The makers of the upcoming Odia film Shikar unveiled the much-awaited first look of the movie on the birthday of its lead actor Amlan Das, creating excitement among fans and the Ollywood industry.
The first look video hints at an intense and gripping thriller, with the tagline suggesting a story of revenge, betrayal, and transformation. Sharing the glimpse, the makers wrote: “Not every hunter carries a weapon… Some hunt with pain, some with love, some with betrayal. Once they were the prey… now the hunt begins.” The film is slated for release during the festive Raja Festival in 2026.
Directed by Mrutyunjaya Sahoo and produced by Sachikanta Jena, the film is being made under the banner of Moon TV Movies in association with Sidharth Music. The story, screenplay and dialogues have been written by Priyabrata Panda.
Apart from Amlan Das, the film features a strong ensemble cast including Elina Samantaray, Supriya Nayak, Ankit, Tapas Saragharia, Pradyumna Lenka, Prashant Patra, Prabhati, Smita Mohanty, Avinab Singh, Gyana Hota, Pushpa Panda, Soham Singh, Mitu Mithun, and child artist Rishi.
The film’s journey began earlier this year with a grand muhurat ceremony at Balunkeshwar Temple, attended by the cast, crew and several dignitaries from the Odia film industry.
Shikar promises a suspenseful narrative revolving around a shocking family murder. As multiple characters become entangled in the mystery, the story explores who the real hunter is and what drives the crime.
Blending thriller elements with emotional family drama, the film aims to keep audiences guessing until the very end.
