Bhubaneswar: After Australia, Boston, Dublin, IIT Indore, Odia movie Pratikshya was screened in Singapore. The screening was organised by Odia Society of Singapore
More than 100 Odia people has gathered to watch the national award wining film.
Anupam Patnaik director of the national award winning movie said ” Another feather in cap, Pratkishya premiered at Singapore, Thank you Odia Society of Singapore.
Earlier, with the blessing of Lord Jagannath, for the first time in the history of an IIT hit Odia cinema “Prateekshya” was exclusively screened on December 15th at Gargi Hall,IIT Indore,Indore by the Odia students powered by cinephiles team.
As you know Pratikshya is produced & directed by Anupam Patnaik and is written by Roshan Bisoi and inspired by a short story, Bapa written by Gourahari Das. Pratikshya is a movie about the dreams, desperation, and aspirations of a middle-class family.
More than 95 people attended the screening. In addition to Odias, people of different states and linguistic groups also watched the movie which included students as well as faculties. They commended Odisha and its culture and said they enjoyed the movie.
The audience acknowledged the realistic and natural storytelling and applauded the screen performances of Barsha Patnaik, Dipanwit Dashmohapatra, Jayprakash Das, and renowned Odia actor Siddhanta Mahapatra. Everyone went on an emotional ride watching this movie. It was a heart-touching film, and the occasion will live on in our memory.
Pratikshya won best Odia film national award at the 69th National Film Award last year.
