FSB’s Children’s film festival starts tommorow

Bhubaneswar: Film Society of Bhubaneswar is organising the 2nd edition of Children’s Film Festival from July 24th to 26th at Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra Odissi Research Centre.

Students from Class VI, VII and VIII, from several schools including Loyola School (both English and Odia medium) KIIT international School will participate in the three-day festival.

The festival plans to engage children with hands-on workshops around pop-up artwork, sketching and sand art
animation.

On the concluding day, the children will see their efforts from the workshops, culminate into an animated short film.

The festival will screen films of renowned film makers from across the world, from Japan – Hayao Miyazaki, from
India – Vishal Bharadwaj, from Denmark – Tom Moore, from USA – Carroll Ballard, Buster Keaton, from France –Albert Lamorisse and Jacques Tati.

“The participating students will get a flavour of some of the best children’s films that will expose them to history, storytelling cultures and hopefully open up conversations about the world. We believe exposure to good cinema enables cognitive development and curiosity leading to lifelong learning and engagement with one’s society,” said FSB president Subrat Beura.

Film Society of Bhubaneswar is a voluntary organization set up by a group of filmmakers and film enthusiasts from Odisha established in 2004.
