Ekamra Walks to Host Odia Literary Trail and Film Screening This Sunday

Bhubaneswar: This Sunday, Ekamra Walks invites residents and visitors to an immersive celebration of Odisha’s cultural heritage, featuring the Odia Literary Trail in the morning and the Odia Film Panorama in the evening.

Morning Session: Odia Literary Trail

Starting at 11:30 AM, the Odia Literary Trail will bring the short story Swapnabhanga to life through a unique storytelling session. Designed for all audiences, the interactive format ensures that prior reading is not required, creating a warm and engaging literary experience.

Adding a vibrant cultural dimension, the session will feature the Dhap dance, a traditional rhythmic art form from the Kandha community. Known for its powerful beats and storytelling through movement, the Dhap reflects generations of Odisha’s oral and musical heritage. By combining narrative and rhythmic expression, the trail promises a rich and memorable start to the day.

Evening Session: Odia Film Panorama

The celebration continues at 5:30 PM at Kala Bhoomi with the Odia Film Panorama, featuring the acclaimed short film Ahalya. A sensitive and reflective reinterpretation of the mythological character, the film delves into themes of silence, resilience, and the invisible emotional burdens carried by women.

Director Bijoy Ketan Mishra will engage with audiences in an interactive session on December 14, offering insights into the film’s creative process and thematic depth.
