Bhubaneswar: Celebrated Odia filmmaker Sudhanshu Mohan Sahoo, known for movies like Bhaunri, Mayabi and Katak, is currently busy filming Ram Rajya—the much-anticipated sequel to Anasmish Productions’ blockbuster Katak.

After wrapping up the first schedule in Kolkata, where actress Poonam Mishra revealed the shoot concluded near the Ganga Ghat, Sahoo has now shifted the production to multiple locations across Odisha. The director has been actively sharing behind-the-scenes (BTS) glimpses from the sets, giving fans a sneak peek into the making of Odia cinema’s first-ever sequel.

The sequel introduces debutant Prem Parijaa in the lead role. Known for his performance in the web series Commando, Prem makes his Odia film debut with this ambitious project.

When officially announced, Ram Rajya was described as a historic first for Odia cinema, carrying forward the story of Katak Sesha Ru Aarambha (2023). The makers promised a “massive action extravaganza Odisha has never seen before” and teased a star-studded cast reveal in the coming days.

The original Katak, also directed by Sahoo, featured Sidhant Mohapatra, Debasis Patra, Anu Choudhury, Poonam Mishra, and Chaudhary Bikash Das. It ended on a powerful cliffhanger—with the city in turmoil and the rightful heir yet to reclaim the throne—leaving fans eager for continuation.

With Ram Rajya, produced by Kumar Pritam Sahoo, Sudhanshu Mohan Sahoo aims to take the narrative to greater cinematic heights while keeping audiences engaged through regular BTS updates.
