Bhubaneswar: In a surprising turn of events, National Award-winning director **Anupam Patnaik has stepped away from the much-anticipated film “Raa’V’an”, starring superstar Anubhav Mohanty. The announcement has come as a shock to fans and industry insiders alike, especially given the successful collaboration between Anupam and Anubhav in the critically acclaimed film ‘Karma’.
Taking to his social media, Patnaik shared an emotional message “Some journeys are for a lifetime, and some are short and sweet. We were ready with a big announcement today, but, with a heavy heart we would like to inform that… as things stand, due to unavoidable circumstances, we, Amiya Patnaik Productions are not a part of ‘Raa’V’an’.”
“Raa’V’an”, which was announced last year, was set to begin filming in May 2025, with a planned **Dussehra release**. The film had generated considerable buzz, especially due to the reunion of Anupam and Anubhav, and the strong backing of producers Barsha Patnaik, Arpit Golecha, and Jagrati Shukla.
As part of its pre-production, the team had already conducted location scouting in Goa, suggesting an ambitious visual style and scenic storytelling. The writing team, comprising Manas Padhiary, Nishant Majithia, Jagrati Shukla, and **Anupam Patnaik, was lauded for putting together a compelling script.
With Patnaik’s departure, the future of *Raa’V’an* now hangs in uncertainty. While there has been no official word on a replacement or revival timeline, insiders hint that the project may be shelved unless a new creative direction is found.
Fans remain hopeful, but for now, *Raa’V’an* appears to be on an indefinite pause.
