Chocolate Boy Swaraj Barik ready to change his image with ‘Pratha’
Talented, Young Heartthrob of Ollywood Swaraj Barik, who has been working in the industry since the age of four, has made his mark as the new chocolate boy of the industry with his romantic movies. This includes his works in films including Tumo Love Story(2017), Laila O Laila (2017), Love Express (2018), Tumo Love Story2(2019) This Is Maya Re Baya (2019), Kiss Miss among others. The budding celebrity is now ready for his new and indirectly different movie from his previous work, Pratha.
The trailer of the movie will be released Monday. This multilingual movie will also be released in Hindi, Punjabi, and Odia.
Talking to Odia Celebrity, Swaraj who had debuted as a child actor with Pagala Premi Directed by Hara Pattanayak and had made several moves as a child artist, including his first movie Pagala Premi Directed by Hara Pattanayak, Samaya Hata Re Dori, Chhati Chiri Dele Tu, Neija Re Megha Mote, Dhire Dhire Prema Hela, Suna Chadhei Mo Rupa Chodhei, Akase Ki Ranga Lagila and others, said that his new movie Pratha is different from his previous work.
He said, “For some time, I have been trying to change my image and not wanted to be categorized and stereotyped as a romantic hero alone. So when this movie came, I grabbed it with both hands. This movie is totally different from my previous works,” he said.
The film showcases the story of an orthodox village in Odisha where following traditional culture is often sacrosanct. The reel life depicts how these age-old practices define the movie’s main characters.
Talking about his character, Swaraj said, “I am playing a character of Potharaju, a nomadic tribe known for wearing Haldi in the body and vermilion on his forehead and hitting themselves with the whip and entertaining people. It was set in the Lalaguda area in Koraput and revolved around my character, who personally faces a tough situation and how he copes with it. ”
He added that the character was very challenging as he had to grow a beard and do hair extensions. “This was a different character for me and from any previous character I played. In the end, I am delighted that I got this role,” he said.
In the movie, Pratha stars along with Sheetal Patra and Simran Kaur in the lead roles. Talking about his experience working with two actresses for the first time, Swaraj said, “Sheetal is a talented actress and has done a lot of good roles in her career. Also, Simran, who is from Mumbai, didn’t know any Odia but still gave an exceptional performance in the movie.”
Swaraj has done many romantic movies. He admitted that he wanted to break that flow of doing one type of role in romantic movies, so he tried experimenting with this role and hoped that his fans would love him in this role too.
Swaraj has been part of the movie-making since his adolescence. He got his first break as a child artist in Pagala Preemi while auditioning for a dance show where director Hara Pattanayak found him, selected him, and thus started his career and journey.
He said working as a child artist and the lead hero is totally different. He said, “As a child artist, it is fun and entertaining as there is no pressure on you, but as a hero, the whole movie depends on you.”
Fans love his pairing with Bhoomika in Tu Mo Love story and its sequel. Swaraj said that Bhoomika has become an excellent actress with outstanding roles. Apart from that, she is also studying Dentistry, which is incredible.”
About his future work, Swaraj said that fans will be excited to watch him and Bhoomika again in the Tu Mo Love story three, which will be his next venture after Pratha. “There is another project about which I can’t disclose much, but it is an exciting role and will be another different role for me, ” he said
About his family role Swaraj said “More than my parents my grandparents motivated me and my dreams. And due to their love and support I become an actor” he said
