‘Bou Buttu Bhuta’ Smashes Records, Grosses Over ₹15 Crores at Odisha Box Office

Bhubaneswar: Ollywood superstar Babushaan Mohanty continues his reign at the box office with his latest blockbuster, Bou Buttu Bhuta, which has shattered all previous records by grossing ₹15.47 crores within just 19 days of release. Premiering during the Raja festival, the horror-comedy-suspense drama is now the highest-grossing Odia film of all time.

The film opened with a massive ₹51.2 lakh on day one—breaking Anubhav’s Karma record—and crossed ₹10 crores by day 11. Over 600 houseful shows across Odisha and beyond have cemented the film’s runaway success.

Babushaan, already riding high on hits like Daman and Pabar, thanked Odia audiences for their overwhelming support, crediting the entire cast and crew for the triumph. He also expressed hope that the film’s success would inspire a new wave of ambitious Odia cinema.

Directed by Jagadish Mishra and produced by Trupti Satapathy under Babushaan Films, the movie stars Archita opposite Babushaan, along with veteran actress Aparajita in a key role. The ensemble includes Jayprakash Das, KK, Ravi Mishra, and others.

Bou Buttu Bhuta has even outperformed major Bollywood hits like Jawan, KGF, and Baahubali 2 in the Odisha region. Its catchy songs, especially Dunguthili… and Oda Lage…, have contributed to its widespread appeal.
