Bhubaneswar: Odia actress Archita Sahu has expressed heartfelt gratitude to her fans as her latest film Pade Akasha successfully completes six weeks in cinema halls across Odisha. The critically acclaimed biographical film, which opened on April 11, 2025, has carved a unique space for itself despite lacking conventional commercial elements like high-octane action, song-and-dance sequences, or a traditional “hero.”
In a message to fans, Archita shared:
“Challenges for releasing this cinema were a little more than others, as we didn’t have commercial songs, action, or a HERO. But considering the current scenario and the limited number of halls across Odisha, Pade Akasha has created its own place! We are extremely grateful to our lovely audience for believing in us. Your love in the sixth week of release means everything. If you still haven’t seen the movie yet, book your seats and witness an inspiring story!”
Pade Akasha, directed by Susant Mani and produced by Litisha Mangat Panda under the banner of Tarang Cine Productions, is inspired by the life and work of Dr. Sruti Mohapatra—a pioneering advocate for the disabled community. Archita Sahu plays the titular role, portraying Dr. Mohapatra’s extraordinary journey from her wheelchair to becoming a symbol of hope, resilience, and change.
Originally scheduled for release on International Women’s Day, the film aligns with its core message of celebrating women’s empowerment and addressing issues of accessibility and inclusion.
The cast also includes Rajesh Jais, Hara Rath, Smita Mohanty, Mohan Majithia, Madhumita, and Bijaylaxmi.
The screenplay is written by Biplav Singh and Debidutta Mohanty, with music composed by Prem Anand and lyrics by Bijaya Malla**.
As Pade Akasha continues to run successfully in theatres, it stands as a testament to the power of meaningful cinema and the audience’s growing appetite for inspiring real-life stories.
Actress Archita will be seen next in Horror movie Bou Buttu Bhuta starring Archita Sahu, Babushaan Mohanty and Aparajita Mohanty in lead roles.
