Bhubaneswar: Odia superstar Anubhav Mohanty took to social media to pen an emotional note, revisiting the memories of his debut film I Love You — a 2004 romantic action drama that marked the beginning of his celebrated journey in Odia cinema.
Directed by the late Hara Patnaik and produced by Sanjay Nayak, I Love You was a remake of the 1999 Tamil hit Thullatha Manamum Thullum. The film starred a young Anubhav Mohanty opposite Mumbai-based model and actress Namrata Thapa, who played his first on-screen love interest.
Sharing a heartfelt post titled “LOVE YOU: A Date Etched,” Anubhav expressed deep gratitude and nostalgia as he looked back on the day that changed his life forever.

“Today’s date is etched forever in my heart—a day of immense significance that will remain with me till my last breath,” he wrote. “It was the greatest honor and privilege to be launched under the guidance of two unparalleled legends of Indian cinema, the late Shri Basanta Naik Uncle (Producer) and the late Shri Hara Pattnaik Uncle (Director). Their presence on that historical stage for the Shubh Mahurat of I Love You is a memory I cherish forever.”
Calling both mentors “immortal,” Anubhav added that their contribution to cinema and his own journey will always hold a special place in his heart and in the hearts of genuine film lovers. He also extended a special thank-you to Namrata Thapa, his “very first on-screen lady love,” and expressed gratitude to every member of the film’s cast, crew, and supporters.
“Please continue to shower me with your love and blessings as I move forward,” he concluded.
Two decades on, I Love You continues to be remembered not only as a landmark in Odia cinema but also as the film that introduced a star who would go on to redefine the industry’s modern era.
