Bhubaneswar: To commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Abhinaya Jagruti Institute of Theatre (AJIT), one of the state’s most renowned theater groups, the 13th Multilingual National Theatre festival, Ajit Natya Mahotsav, will be held From January 20 to 23.
The event will take place at Rabindra Mandap. Maya Das, the theater troupe’s president, told reporters.
Das said “Under the visionary leadership of our founder, Late Ajit Das, who directed over 100 plays and organized 12 national festival days, AJIT has been steadfast in promoting Odisha’s rich art and culture over the past 25 years.” Three plays and a seminar are scheduled to take place during the festival.
As per the schedule, three plays and a seminar will be held during the festival
On the first day, the host troupe will stage the play Tata Niranjana. The play is written Akademi award-winning playwright late Bijoy Mishra and directed by Late Ajit Das. On the second day, the Bangalore centre of the National School of Drama will present Shivaratri, directed by Veena Sharma.
The third day will feature Bitarkita Aparahna, a play by CANMASS from Paradip directed by Sriman Mishra.
The final day will have a seminar honouring 50 years Journey of Late Ajit Das in theatre celebrating his legacy.
