Bhubaneswar: Director Ajay Padhi, known for blending socially driven narratives with gripping storytelling, is taking a bold leap forward with the sequel to his acclaimed film Bigul. Titled *Bigul 2: The War Cry,  the sequel promises not just a larger canvas but also a technological breakthrough never seen before in Odia cinema.

Padhi recently shared mysterious images on social media, writing, *“FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER, THIS GROUNDBREAKING TECHNOLOGY IS COMING TO ODIA CINEMA. STAY TUNED… A NEW ERA BEGINS SOON.”* Though details are under wraps, insiders hint at **cutting-edge visual effects, high-end sound design, and immersive cinematic techniques** aimed at elevating the Odia film industry’s technical standards.

This bold innovation aligns with Padhi’s vision to expand *Bigul*’s legacy. The first film, released on **March 29**, gripped audiences with its haunting story of a village shaken by mysterious murders and a Bigul-bearer’s spiritual mission. Now, with *Bigul 2*, the director aims to push both narrative and technical boundaries.

The sequel was announced last year on **actor Anubhav Mohanty’s birthday**, with the release of the title poster. Padhi emphasized, *“Good art takes time to nurture. #Bigul\_2 will be 10x grand.”* Mohanty, who made a special appearance in the original, is set to play a **central role** in the sequel.

Produced by Debananda Behera, co-produced by Arvind Sahoo, and backed by Sai Darbar Films, Bigul 2 will begin shooting in November 2025 and is slated for a Dusshera 2026 release in Odia, Hindi, and Telugu.  The team also includes Aamit Kumar Dash (Siba) for screenplay/dialogues, Yudhisthira Behera as DOP, and music by Suraj Purohit.

With *Bigul 2*, Ajay Padhi isn’t just making a film—he’s building a cinematic experience designed to **redefine what’s possible in regional cinema**.
