Acclaimed Odia Film ‘Rangashoor’ Set for World Television Premiere on Zee Sarthak on June 28

Bhubaneswar: After winning appreciation in theatres and earning recognition on the international festival circuit, Odia film Rangashoor is all set to reach a wider audience through its World Television Premiere on June 28 on Zee Sarthak.

The film, which was released in cinemas last year, received praise for its strong cultural narrative and authentic portrayal of Odisha’s folk traditions. Its television debut is expected to introduce the critically acclaimed movie to viewers across households in Odisha and beyond.

Written and directed by Pratap Rout, who also served as the Director of Photography, Rangashoor celebrates the rich cultural heritage of Odisha. The film shines a spotlight on Bagha Nacha (Tiger Dance), one of the state’s most vibrant and visually striking folk art forms, presenting its significance and traditions through a compelling cinematic narrative.

The movie gained further recognition after being showcased and appreciated at the prestigious New York Indian Film Festival, bringing Odisha’s cultural legacy to an international audience.

Rangashoor features an ensemble cast including Suryamayee Mohapatra, Chaudhury Jayprakash Das, Chaudhury Bikash Das, Samaresh Routray, Jyoti Ranjan, Dipanwit Das Mohapatra, Subhasish Sharma, Subhashree and Shakti Baral, among others.
With its blend of folklore, tradition and storytelling, Rangashoor has emerged as one of the notable Odia films in recent years. Its upcoming television premiere offers another opportunity for audiences to experience a film that proudly showcases Odisha’s cultural identity on both national and international platforms.
