Coming to the media lights post the mind boggling success of his action thriller ‘Pathaan’, bollywood badshah Shah Rukh Khan compared himself and his two co-stars, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham to the unforgettable Manmohan Desai characters from the cult classic 1977 film Amar Akbar Anthony. He spoke about playing characters in films and urged audiences not to take their onscreen avatars seriously. He went on to explain that everything they do on the silver screen is done in the name of entertainment only.

Joining the actor on stage were Pathaan director Siddharth Anand, his co-stars Deepika and John Abraham in front of the media and fans to celebrate the success of the action film in Mumbai on Monday.

Shah Rukh spoke, “Sabka maksad ek hi hota hai (Everyone has one motive). We should spread happiness, brotherhood, love, kindness, even when I’m playing a bad guy in Darr or in Baazigar, even if John is playing a negative character in a film. None of us are actually bad. We are all playing characters to make our viewers happy. Even if we say some things in the film, none of them are meant to hurt anybody or their sentiments. It is just entertainment.”

It is noteworthy to mention that earlier, many protested against the film for allegedly hurting their sentiments, especially after the release of the sensuous number Besharam Rang.
