Renowned Odia Music Director Abhijit Majumdar Critically Ill, Admitted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar Renowned Odia playback singer and music director Abhijit Majumdar, has been admitted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar in a critical condition. The celebrated musician, known for his chart-topping songs in Odia films and albums, was brought to the hospital around 10 AM today in a comatose state and was immediately placed on ventilator support.

According to Dr. Srikant Behera, Assistant Professor at the Department of General Medicine, AIIMS Bhubaneswar, Majumdar was shifted to the Medical ICU at noon for advanced treatment.

“He is critically ill, in a comatose condition, and suffering from pneumonia. He is on ventilator support. His blood pressure and pulse are stable at present,” Dr. Behera said in an official statement.

Majumdar has a history of multiple comorbidities, including hypertension, hypothyroidism, and chronic liver disease, which have worsened his current health condition.

A stalwart of the Odia music industry, Abhijit Majumdar has delivered countless hit songs over the past two decades and is celebrated for his immense contribution to Odia cinema and devotional music.

Family members and fans have gathered outside AIIMS Bhubaneswar, offering prayers for his speedy recovery. The hospital authorities have assured that his condition is being closely monitored, and further updates will be shared soon.
