Pabar Dominates Tarang Cine Utsav, Winning Major Awards Across Categories

Bhubaneswar: Pabar grabbed major awards at the Tarang Cine Utsav, winning all the major categories. The movie, which stars Babushaan Mohanty and Elina Samantaray, secured recognition for Best Director (Ashok Pati), Best Actor (Babushaan Mohanty), Best Actress (Elina Samantaray), Best Music Director (Gaurav Anand), Best Choreographer (Amit Nayak), Best Female Singer (Aseema Panda), and Best Lyricist (JP Wordsmith).

Released on July 12 last year, Pabar grossed more than Rs 1.7 Crore at the box office. The film, which is loosely based on true events, follows the life of Benudhar Kandi, a man from the village of Gumagarh in Odisha, who is drawn into local politics due to unexpected circumstances.

Directed by Ashok Pati and produced by Tripti Satpathy, the film premiered in more than 50 cinema halls, including special screenings at Swati and Maharaja cinemas in Bhubaneswar, where the stars attended. The movie’s music label is Amara Muzik, and the shooting took place in Phulbani, Kandhamal district.

The film was written by Amit Kumar Dash and Pranab Rath, with supporting roles played by Choudhury Jayprakash Das, Ravi Mishra, Krishna Kar, Udit Guru, and others. The collaboration between Babushaan Mohanty and Ashok Pati had already been successful in multiple films, including *Love Station*, *Sister Sridevi*, *Tu Je Sei*, and *Ajab Sabjura Gajab Love*.
