Odia playback singer booked for abduction and assault

Cuttack: In a series of grave allegations against playback singer Humane Sagar, film lyricist Pramod Kumar Parida lodged a case at Badambadi Police Station, accusing the former of abduction and severe assault. The victim, Parida, is presently hospitalized for sustaining grievous injuries in the incident, said a cop.

A report lodged at the police station by the complainant has stated that the singer attacked him due to a recent social media post, which was directed against the later, said a cop, adding that the cops are also looking for Parida’s medical examination reports to confirm the allegations.

The report further mentioned that four men, including Humane’s manager, barged inside Parida’s house at Palamandap Tuesday and abducted him with a gunpoint. While Parida objected, the men forced him to seat in the vehicle, saying that, ‘This attack is the repercussions for your social media post against Humane’.

Following which, Parida was taken to a building near Sunshine Field, which already had 8-9 members. Later, the men assaulted Parida with iron rods and kicks in his chest, which caused a severe jolt in his head and led him to faint, the report noted.

Few hours later when Parida gained back consciousness, he found him to be disrobed with his wrist watch and gold ring to be stolen, the report added.

Prima facie, the Badambadi Police Station has launched an investigation into the incident. The accused men have been booked under Section 25 of arms act, Section 294, Section 323 and a host of others under IPC provisions, a cop said.
