The video, titled Karma, features Sriya Lenka, India’s first-ever K-pop star, who hails from Odisha. She is joined by her bandmates Fatou, Nvee, and Gabi, who come from different parts of the world. The video was shot in one day at stunning locations like Dhauli, Lingaraj Temple, and nearby areas.
Sriya told in an interview that she was very proud of this album because it reflects her Indian roots and heritage. She said that Karma is an Indian word and that the video includes elements of Indian music, dance, festivals, and temples. She also hoped that the video would introduce Odisha to a global audience.
The director of the video, Sagan Lee, thanked Odisha Tourism for their support and cooperation in obtaining the permits for shooting at various places. She also expressed her gratitude to Samaresh Routray, a local actor and producer, who helped them with the logistics and arrangements. She said that the people of Odisha were very welcoming and friendly.
The video has received over two million views since its release on May 19, 2023. It is also available on major music platforms like Spotify, YouTube Music, Melon, and more.
