Odia film ‘Sir’ to premiere on Zee Sarthak on September 6

Bhubaneswar, Sept 3: The much-awaited Odia film Sir, based on the unbreakable bond between a teacher and his students and inspired by a true incident, is set to have its World Television Premiere on Zee Sarthak on September 6 at 6:30 pm.

Released theatrically on November 14 last year, Sir received appreciation from audiences for its emotional storyline and portrayal of the selfless relationship between a teacher and his students.

The film follows Adarsh teacher Agani Mahanti and his unwavering commitment to his students. The story revolves around his struggle to save his student Ramesh from a false land scam case and prove his innocence.

A poor teacher who has received the President’s Award, Agani takes on corruption and injustice despite the odds, making the film an emotional tale of courage, integrity and the power of a teacher-student bond.
Produced by Dr Kamal Lochan Sahu and directed by Keshab Mallik, the film features Samaresh Routray, Abhishek Rath, Arlin Ankita, Dipanwita Dasmahapatra and Asrumochan in key roles. Arlin Ankita was paired opposite Abhishek Rath for the first time in the film.

Dr Kamal Lochan Sahu has penned the story and dialogues, while Aarohi Ajita has composed the music.

Speaking ahead of the television premiere, Zee Sarthak Chief Channel Officer Rahul Rao said the channel has consistently sought to bring the best inspirational and value-based stories to Odia audiences.

“Sir is a film based on a true incident that highlights the greatness of the teaching profession. We firmly believe that the story will touch the hearts of viewers,” Rao said, urging audiences to watch the film with their families on September 6 at 6:30 pm.
