Goa: One of Odisha’s most awaited films, Bindusagar, had its grand world premiere at the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) on November 25 at INOX Screen IV, Porvorim. The screening drew film lovers, critics, and delegates eager to witness a story deeply rooted in Odisha’s cultural soul.

Produced by Platoon One Films and Boundless Blackbuck Films in association with MDC Filmworks, Bindusagar is directed by Abhishek Swain and written by Subhasish Das. The film stars Prakruti Mishra, Dipanwit Das Mohapatra, Sonali Sharmistha, and veteran actor Robin Das, among others.
The emotional drama follows Aishwarya, a young woman who returns to her ancestral home in Bhubaneswar, where she forms an unexpected bond with Raghunath, an elderly man coping with profound grief. The film’s exploration of love, loss, and rediscovery has already resonated strongly with festival-goers.

On the red carpet, lead actress Prakruti Mishra turned heads in an elegant traditional sari, while co-stars Dipanwit Das Mohapatra and Sonali Sharmistha complemented the evening with understated style.
Early viewers praised the film’s sensitive storytelling and its breathtaking visual portrayal of Bhubaneswar — from ancient temples to sweeping greenery and its evolving urban landscape — bringing the spirit of Odisha to an international audience.
With its heartfelt narrative and evocative cinematography, Bindusagar marks a memorable Odia presence at IFFI 2025, setting high expectations for its wider release.
