Odia Film ‘Abhisar: Eka Prema Kahani’ Back in Spotlight as Nursing College Announces Free Education for Transgender Students
Bhubaneswar: The upcoming Odia film ‘Abhisar: Eka Prema Kahani’ has once again become a subject of discussion, this time inspiring a significant step towards educational inclusion for the transgender community.
Inspired by the film’s initiative of casting a transgender person in the lead female role, Manjari Devi Nursing College has announced free education for transgender students. The announcement was made by the college’s Secretary Sarat Chandra Biswal and Vice-President Joshna Das.
The initiative has been described as a rare and welcome step towards creating greater opportunities and social inclusion for members of the transgender community.
As part of the film’s promotional campaign, the entire team of Abhisar: Eka Prema Kahani visited the college campus, where they interacted with the authorities and students. The team also shared the film’s audio and video content with those present.
Students and members of the college community appreciated the film’s attempt to bring about a change in the way transgender persons are perceived in society. They praised the Abhisar team for using cinema as a medium to challenge stereotypes and encourage a more inclusive outlook towards the transgender community.
Director Ranjit Mohanty expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the authorities of Manjari Devi Nursing College for announcing free education for transgender students.
Produced under the banner of Fusion Entertainment, Abhisar: Eka Prema Kahani has been produced by Lakshmipriya Mohanty and Vijay Ketan Mishra.
The film stars Rudra Pratap as the male lead and transgender actor Bhumi in the female lead role. The supporting cast includes Swati, Siddheshwar, Santosh, Arya, Shanti, Babu, Kartik and Shivaji Raja, among others.
Prasanna Kumar has handled the cinematography, while the music has been composed by Bibhuti Bhushan Gadnayak. Pranay Jethi of Media Planner is heading the film’s publicity and promotion.
Scheduled for release in September, Abhisar: Eka Prema Kahani is generating interest among audiences not only for its unique casting but also for the social messages it seeks to convey.
