Mayurbhanj Utsav to held from Jan 31

Bhubaneswar: Mayurbhanj Utsav 2025 will be held at Utkal Mandap, Bhubaneswar, from January 31 to February 2, showcasing the region’s rich art, culture, and heritage.

The announcement was made during a press conference at Mayurbhanj Bhawan Wednesday.

Key dignitaries present at the press meet included Utsav Committee chairman Arun Kumar Rath, actor Sukant Rath, former Karanjia Sub-Collector Rajani Kanta Biswal, and Chinmay Kumar Das Pattnaik.

Film director Tapas Sargharia outlined the three-day event’s cultural highlights, which include performances of Chhau and Jhumra dances by renowned artists.

The festival will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi January 31, with the Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Higher Education, Sports, Odia Language, Literature, and Culture also expected to attend.

On February 1, a special memorial gathering will be held at The Institute of Engineers, Sachivalaya Marg, from 10am to 2pm, marking the 150th birth anniversary of Maharaja Sriramchandra Bhanj Deo. The Maharaja and Maharani of Mayurbhanj will be the guests of honour.
