Bhubaneswar: The upcoming Odia film KANGULA – Maa Kali Ra Danda Nacha is all set to hit cinema halls across the state on Friday (April 24), with the makers gearing up for a grand theatrical release.
A special premier shows will be held at Maharaja cinema hall and Sriya complex in Bhubaneswar and Brundaban in Cuttack.
The film has already created strong buzz through its teaser, trailer and songs, raising expectations among audiences.
Directed by Aswin Tripathy, Kangula is rooted in Odisha’s rich cultural heritage and inspired by the sacred Danda Nacha tradition. The film blends devotion, mystery, sacrifice and divine power, with the fierce spiritual presence of Maa Kali at the center of the narrative.
The movie stars Sambeet Acharya in the lead role, alongside Suryamayee Mohapatra, Abhishek Giri, and Sritam Das in important roles. Actress Payal Routray also features in a special dance number that has gained attention online.
Produced by Suvendra Kumar Malla (Litu) and Sambeet Acharya, the film’s music album has also contributed to the pre-release excitement. Songs like “Anugul Ra Tukuli” and “To Pari Haba Kie” have received positive response from viewers.
