‘Barang 1999’ won best Regional series award at Indian Telly Streaming Awards 2024

Bhubaneswar: A Kanccha Lannka Original web series Barang 1999 directed by Ajay Padhi won Best Regional series award at Indian Telly Streaming Awards 2024 in Mumbai On July 19.

The award was received by Kanccha Lannka chairman Akshaya Parija and series director Ajay Padhi.

The Odia web series ‘Barang 1999’ based on the real incident is streaming at OTT platform Kanccha Lannka.

The seven episode web series Barang 1999 is a story of a woman Amrita Padhi pitted against the mighty government. While concept of the web series is created by Dilip Bisoi, the story is written by Saroj Mohapatra.

Talking about winning the award Akshaya Parija, Co founder and chairman of Kanccha Lannka said that this award belongs to all the members, cast, crew, technicians involved in the project and their hard work.

Hit web series Exposed famed director Ajay Padhi directed this new series. The series stars actress Supriya Nayak, Sacred Games fame actor and NSD Director Chittaranjan Tripathy and actor Sukumar Tudu in important roles.

This apart, Chandan Mohanty, Asit Patra, Nishanta Majhitia,Bhaswati Basu, KP Somen Pujari, Bhupati Tripathy and others also seen in key roles.

Earlier, Director Padhi had said “Making the series is challenging as its canvas is very big and recreating 90 era was challenging but we had done it for authenticity and we hope that the audience will love it”
