Arun Bothra on Atul Kulkarni playing him in Mindgame: “How could he read me so well in one meeting”

Bhubaneswar: Crime Branch Additional DG Arun Bothra is impressed with Odia movie Mindgame, which is based on 2018 Patnagarh Parcel bomb case, and with the acting of actor Atul Kulkarni who is playing reel life Arun in the movie.

In his social media account Arun said ” After watching the movie Mind Game, many friends have shared that @atul_kulkarni has beautifully copied my mannerism.”

Ahead of its release on October 6, the makers of Odia crime thriller Mindgame had organised a special screening of the Odisha police personnel at Stutee cinema hall Wednesday. At the special screening Crime Branch Additional DG Arun Bothra and DGP Sunil Bansal were present along with actor Manoj Mishra, producer Sridhar Martha, director Rajesh Touchriver and others.

Bothra has deftly handled important cases including detection of the Nayagarh minor girl rape and murder that snowballed into a huge controversy. He had also solved the sensational Patnagarh parcel bomb leading to arrest of its main accused Punjilal Meher.

The movie stars Bollywood actor Atul Kulkarni, Yashpal Sharma, Odia actor Manoj Mishra, Anu Choudhury, Tanikella Bharani, Chinmay Mishra, Apsara Rani, Pushpa Panda, Shiju, Sanju Sivaram, Ishika Singh and Chitta Ranjan Mishra.

It has been directed by award-winning filmmaker, Rajesh Touchriver and produced by Sridhar Maartha. The movie is released on October 6 in Odia, Telugu, Hindi and Sambalpuri.

On February 23, five days after their marriage, Soumya Sekhar Sahu, a 26-year-old software engineer, and his 85-year-old grand aunt Jemamani Sahu were killed and his 22-year-old wife Reema injured when he was opening a parcel that arrived at their home in Patnagarh.

Odisha police took two months to crack the sensational crime and claimed that Punjilal Meher, 46-year old English Professor, sent the wedding gift over a professional rivalry with Soumya Sekhar’s mother, who happens to be the Principal of the same college where the accused taught.
