Bhubaneswar: After making waves at the Kolkata International Film Festival with accolades from both jury and critics, Lahari is now set to hit cinema halls across Odisha on September 12.

The film, which has also been selected for the upcoming Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) in Australia on August 15, is produced by Jhilik Bhattacharjee under Jhilik Motion Pictures and helmed by National Award-winning director Amartya Bhattacharyya.

Featuring a stellar ensemble cast — Chaudhury Jayprakash Das, Chaudhury Bikash Das, Smruti Mahala, Deepanwita Das Mahapatra, Sushanta Mishra, Swastik Chaudhury, and Jane Dwyer — Lahari is enriched by music from Kishalay Roy, with soulful vocals by Gaurav Anand and Navya Jayati. The sound design is crafted by Adeep Singh Manik.

A poignant and visually striking exploration of friendship, fatherhood, and coming-of-age, the film unfolds against the breathtaking landscapes of Odisha’s eco-tourism hotspots. Through a tapestry of scenic backdrops, Lahari celebrates the state’s culture, natural heritage, and entrepreneurial drive.

Bhattacharjee’s storytelling, paired with his multifaceted role as director, writer, lyricist, choreographer, and editor, shapes Lahari into both a heartfelt narrative and a cinematic tribute to Odisha.
