Promising debut for Actress Swapna Priyadarshini in Odia movie
21-year-old new actress Swapna Priyadarshini said she is getting many offers, but she wants to choose good scripts that allow her to explore more.
This week, the Odia movie industry and audience saw a new face on the big screen. Swapna Priyadarshini, a model-turned-actress, began her acting career opposite superstar Anubhav Mohnanty in Odia movie Love in London.
Talking to Odia Celebrity, the 21-year-old actress talked about her experience of working with an actor like Anubhav. She said it was a big thing for her to work with such a big actor at the beginning of her carer, that too, at her debut movie.
“I want to thank director Tapas for giving me a chance at this movie. Swapna said Shooting for the movie was fun as we had to shoot in different locations. Abubhav sir also helped me in getting into the character and performance. He used to share the difficulties he used to get when he was starting his career.
Swapna, before becoming an actress, had participated in beauty pageants from very early age including KIIT Nanhipari where she was first runners up at the age of 13. She was also the winner Miss Tourism and Culture Universe 2018.
She was also second runners up of MTV’s Supermodel Of The Year Season 2 judged by Malaika Arora, Milind Soman, Anusha Dandekar and Daniel Bauer. For Swapna super model show is a big platform as she was the first Odia to participate and it gives her bi exposure. She has participated in many fashion shows such as Lakme Fashion Week and the face of many international brands.
She said that more than modeling her aims and dream was always acting. She said that modeling happens accidentally, but her main aim always was acting. She said that before Love in London she had worked in the movie 2 Chocolate which was streamed at Kanccha Lannka. That movie caught the attention of the Tapas sir and so she got the role in Love in London.
About future projects, she said that she is getting lot of offers but wants to choose good scripts which give me chance to explore more and not just a regular one.
