Bhubaneswar::The Utkal Cine Chamber of Commerce (UCCC) has expressed strong support for the Orissa High Court’s recent decision to uphold its 1993 registration, rejecting any efforts to re-register the organization.
In a press conference held on Sunday, UCCC Secretary Jubuli Sundar Rai condemned attempts by some producers to form a parallel organization under the same name, claiming these actions created unnecessary confusion. Rai emphasized that the court’s ruling was a victory for the Odia film industry and called for firm action against individuals attempting to disrupt its functioning.
Additionally, Ajay Routray, Vice President of the Odisha Producers Association, shared plans to soon hold elections, which had been delayed due to the ongoing legal issues. Routray also highlighted the need for the government to implement the Odia Film Policy 2019 to better support the industry in overcoming its current challenges.
Prominent figures from the Odia film industry, including Producers Sridhar Martha, Pranay Jethy, and Kaushik Das, along with Actor and Producer Sohum Singh, were present at the press meeting. The UCCC reaffirmed its dedication to protecting the interests of the Odia film sector and ensuring a stable, progressive environment for all stakeholders involved.
