‘Dahaan’ Unveils Aurosikha Mishra’s Look as Manyata Singh Deo
The character reveal adds another layer of mystery to Anupam Patnaik's upcoming Odia horror film, set for a September 11 release.
Bhubaneswar: The makers of Dahaan – The Evil Within have unveiled the first look of actor Aurosikha Mishra as Manyata Singh Deo, adding another mysterious character to the much-awaited Odia horror film.
The character poster carries the intriguing line, “Every darkness seeks a doorway,” hinting at the sinister forces at the heart of the film. The makers have kept Manyata’s role under wraps, building further curiosity around her character and her connection to the film’s supernatural narrative.
Written and directed by Anupam Patnaik, Dahaan – The Evil Within is slated to release in cinemas worldwide on September 11, 2026, during Ganesh Puja. The film is being positioned as a horror feature made exclusively for the theatrical experience.
The film stars Aurosikha Mishra alongside Barsha Patnaik, Samrat Mohapatra, Sijan Mohapatra, Partha Sarathi Ray, Choudhury JayPrakash Das, Nishant Majithia, Pranab Prasanna Rath, Navya Jaiti, Prasanjeet Mohapatra, Mohan Majithia, Debadutta Nanda and Amitabh Patra.
Dahaan is produced by Barsha Patnaik and Anupam Patnaik. The film has already generated buzz with its official teaser, which promises a world where “darkness has a face, fear has no escape, and evil never lets go.”
The project also marks a significant chapter in Anupam Patnaik’s association with the horror genre. A longtime fan of horror cinema, the filmmaker began his directorial journey with the horror television show Horror Zone in 2013 and has described Dahaan as a long-cherished dream.
Adding to the film’s atmospheric appeal is its unique shooting location. Dahaan became the first feature film to be shot at the historic Killa Dalijoda, a nearly century-old former royal hunting lodge in Odisha. The entire cast and crew stayed at the heritage property for over a month during the shoot.
With the makers continuing to unveil the characters one by one, Aurosikha’s Manyata Singh Deo look has added another piece to the puzzle ahead of Dahaan – The Evil Within’s theatrical release on September 11.
