CM Felicitates Indian Idol 16 Winner Jyotirmayee Nayak
Bhubaneswar, July 28: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday felicitated Indian Idol Season 16 winner Jyotirmayee Nayak at his official residence in Bhubaneswar and announced a cash reward of ₹5 lakh in recognition of her outstanding achievement on the national stage.
During the meeting, Jyotirmayee presented her Indian Idol trophy to the Chief Minister and shared the story of her journey, highlighting the years of hard work, dedication, and perseverance that led to her victory.
Congratulating the young singer, the Chief Minister said that with the blessings of Lord Jagannath, her exceptional talent and relentless efforts had brought glory to Odisha by emerging as the winner of one of India’s most prestigious singing competitions. He described Jyotirmayee as an inspiration for the new generation of aspiring vocalists.
The Chief Minister also praised Jyotirmayee for using her musical talent beyond the stage. He noted that she has been providing music therapy to cancer patients in several hospitals across Odisha, helping ease their pain and emotional distress through music.
Calling her a “youth icon” for both Odisha and the nation, Majhi said her unique blend of artistic excellence and humanitarian service sets a remarkable example. He expressed confidence that her initiative of integrating music into patient care could inspire a new trend in healthcare.
He further stated that the dedication and commitment of talented young individuals like Jyotirmayee would play a vital role in realizing the vision of a Prosperous Odisha and a Developed India.
The Chief Minister also thanked the people of Odisha for wholeheartedly supporting Jyotirmayee throughout her Indian Idol journey. He said her national achievement has become a proud and memorable chapter for the state and has further showcased Odisha’s rich artistic talent on the national platform.
Jyotirmayee’s parents, Chakradhar Nayak and Gauri Nayak, were also present during the felicitation ceremony.
